Meadowfield Nature Study Centre strives to bring science and nature to life so our school children can gain key skills through exciting investigations, their own observations and the recording of these facinating finds.

Regular visits over the school year from early spring into autumn provide practical opportunities to observe seasonal changes.

It is a place to have fun and a place to be serious about the wonderful world we live in. To maybe ‘get our hands dirty’ and get close to the plants and animals of the countryside – right where they live – in their natural habitats.

We want children to have the opportunity to experience first hand some of the secret world which is going on all around us, year in year out and to understand how we can actually affect these events by our consideration and care for the environment. (Or equally by our neglect and disinterest in it.)

By working with young people we hope to light a spark which may, in later years, fan into a flame which will make a difference to the future of our countryside.

Each visit to Meadowfield can be tailored to the classes individual needs and typically last 2 hours costing £3 per head.
